 I personally would not want to make those the 'official' directions for
 doing this as requiring people to do that is ludicrous. It has long been
 my plan to come up with a good way to allow for users to override those
 colors should they want to, I've intended to use GTK+ theme colors (the
 way we already handle link colors) to do this, but with the thought that
 we might sometime in the near(-ish) future be moving to something like
 webkit I haven't had much motivation recently.
