 I'm not sure what sort of patch I could come up with that would be of use
 here unfortunately as the problem is basically entirely on the server's
 side, if sending the auto-join presence that early is too early then the
 server should at the very least return an error if not kill the connection
 entirely. The fact is that the server seems to be entirely ignoring the
 presence (assuming it isn't a network issue, but that would be an
 extremely tidy and orderly network issue). Does the official client
 support auto-joining of chatrooms? Does it have a debug or xml window? If
 it does and it has then you can capture the debug output from that client
 and post that here and we can compare the two to see if anything jumps
 out. But I doubt that will help much in the long run, I really think we
 need someone from the server side of things to chime in on this, unless
 someone else has a bright idea.
