Comment:

 Very few people (virtually none) have complained about being confused
 about the status selector in the buddy list, and tons of people liked the
 fact that we got rid of the I'm Away window, it was one of the most hated
 windows I think pidgin has ever had. If you want a window like it you can
 likely write a plugin to do it (though the internal queuing may or may not
 make that more complicated). I'm not sure what benefit leaving a small
 window open gains you over having the tray icon indicate the unread
 messages either. We aren't likely to add this back.

 I'll set this to Patches welcome with the understanding that a plugin for
 it might be accepted, but people are free to close this if they feel like
 that is a better response.
