 Bugreport:

I run Pidgin v2.2.1 on my Windows XP.

I use a Cygwin shellscript to start Pidgin with the command "run
'C:\Program\Pidgin\pidgin.exe'". Pidgin start and show its icon in the
system tray. So far everything looks good.

However, when my friends send IM (MSN) messages to me, no window appear on
 my screen!
I'm used to getting a big flashing window on my desktop if someone IM me.
If I've been away for hours, I might have several IMs waiting - but I
don't see any window on the screen, so I don't respond to them. Friends
and girlfriend is getting mad at me for not noticing their messages.
If I manually open up the IM window for e.g. my girlfriend, I can see the
messages she's written to me and that I was unaware of.

If I start Pidgin the normal Windows way (a simple double click or a
shortcut in autostart), the IM window appear whenever a friend send me a
message. The problem only occur when Pidgin is started from Cygwin, and
 this problem is reproduceable.

I guess it has something to do with stdin and stdout being tied to the
hidden Cygwin console window, but I'm no developer...

Is there a solution? Please help. This is really annoying since I
autostart all my apps using customized Cygwin scripts, and Pidgin is the
only application that can't handle being started like this.
(I don't want to always autostart Pidgin, that's why I have the
 shellscript in the first place)
