Comment:

 Do you have the libdbus-1-dev package installed? How about libdbus-
 glib-1-dev? When building from source you need the development packages
 installed as well as the normal runtime packages. The dbus and
 dbus-1-utils packages are entirely unrelated to building anything with
 dbus support, they contain a small number of runtime utilities needed for
 actually using dbus.
