One of the most common "pain" points (more of an annoyance/inconvenience,
really) in using the chat room feature of Pidgin is that, if the chat has
been going on for a while, any late-comers are a bit lost. For example,
say I've been chatting with 9 members of my team, and the 10th one shows
up a few minutes late, it's tough to get that person caught up on what's
 been discussed thus far.

A more common (for me) example is when I'm discussing a problem with a few
folks, and we collectively agree that "Genius X" knows more about this
than all of us combined, and really should be in on the discussion. So I
invite "Genius X", but then have to spend the next few minutes cutting and
pasting comments from *my* view of the chat room history to help get
Genius all caught up. Not efficient at all.

Pidgin could help with this common problem. How about providing an option
to include all, or some number of lines, of the chat room history into the
window of a new chat room participant? There are frequently times where
that would be enormously helpful. Of course, in the interests of
streamlining the invitation process (which means, not forcing me to deal
with a bunch of prompts for each invitation), there should be a way to do
this, or a way to just accept all defaults and *not* do this. Often, I
just need a quick'n'dirty "get in here!" invitation, which should be as
fast as humanly possible. Other times, I need to make sure that the new
participant has what s/he needs in order to effectively participate in the
chat. That makes sense, right? Hope so!!

Thank you very much for your time and consideration!
