 I'm not sure this is a valid feature request. If I understand your request
 correctly, you would like the new chat room participant to have some
 history of the chat when they join. This is a server issue, not a client
 issue. While it might be possible to implement a work-around for this, it
 would be specific to pidgin (and is extremely unlikely to get included in
 pidgin, even as a plugin).

 What protocol are you using? I believe most XMPP servers support this
 feature, including settings for configuring the amount of history to be
 sent to new participants.
