 I agree that forums are useful in many cases, but I think that if we
 cannot expect the developers of the project to frequent them, they're, on
 the whole, useless.  You don't need to join the the mailing list to post
 your questions there, and we will generally remember to reply such that a
 response is CC'ed to the user.  You will find help there, and on our IRC
 channel and XMPP conference, where you can also find most of our major
 contributors and developers most of the time, which means they're more
 than just user to user support resources.
