As the primary developer on the Purple Plugin Pack, I agree fully with
deryni. It is not the responsibility of the Pidgin/Finch/libpurple
developers to file tickets against our plugins simply because someone
decided to forego our ticket opening procedures and incorrectly posted a
bug, feature request, or patch on the wrong trac. '''It is the
responsibility ''of the user'' (in this case, you) to file tickets at our
trac.''' If this situation is perceived as rude, then so be it--this is
the way things are, and it isn't going to change any time soon. The fact
that there is intersection between the Pidgin developers and "Crazy Patch
Writers" and our developers is irrelevant and immaterial to this
 discussion.

Note also that we (the Purple Plugin Pack developers) do not allow non-
developers to modify any attributes of our tickets, which makes it utterly
impossible for someone else to put your e-mail address in the "CC" field
of a ticket on our trac. For that matter, given that you already pointed
out the correct URL for our trac, you could post the ticket yourself, as
you should have to begin with. I'll save you the trouble though and point
out that at least three such tickets have been opened asking for the
plugin, and subsequently closed "wontfix" as explained next.

Again speaking as part of the Purple Plugin Pack's project, we as a
project maintain that the abuse potential for this plugin far outweighs
any potential good use, and as such we will '''''never''''' distribute
precompiled binaries of the plugin. It also does not build by default,
and in fact won't build at all unless you specifically build it manually--
which we provide clear instructions on how to do. This is not going to
change, and in fact I am now ''strongly'' in favor of removing the plugin
and a similar one from our source repository entirely to avoid these
requests in the future. The whole point of making users who want to use
the plugin compile it is an attempt to raise the entry threshold so that
those who would abuse the plugin have less incentive to use it. If that
drives legitimate users away, that's fine by us. We're not out to win any
 popularity contests.

I think I've pretty much covered all the necessary topics here, so I'll
 let this ticket remain dead.
