Comment:

 To be honest, I'm not really sure what to suggest. ":)" isn't a word, so
 the code is working as I'd expect. I realize that this is confusing to the
 end-user, but the only way to really fix this is to add more hackery to
 the "word" parsing which currently relies on Pango to be language-neutral.
