Well, it could be that we get warm fuzzies from it. It could be that it
presents a nicer obvious target area. Or, in my particular case it could
be that I have limited screen real estate and have my chat window open all
day. And given my usage pattern I (not the computer) have determined how
much window I need for messages and how much for input. That a growing
window either covers up the last thing a person said or pushes something
they said out of views. Things that I am often replying to. Thus meaning I
have to scroll the message portion of the window. Or it could just be
because there is nothing "wrong" with a manual option and it is desired
and given it *was* the behavior it doesn't seem unreasonable to request
it. Especially when there has been no compelling reason given as to why
users should NOT be given that ability, much less have it taken away.
And with that I guess I have nothing constructive left to add to this
conversation.
And, yes, everything I have posted I feel has been constructive, even if
that purpose was just to point out there was disatisfaction reasonable or
otherwise. That in and of itself (your users opinions) ARE constructive
and probably should be respected.
Thank you for taking the time to read these things.
