Comment:

 How long is "long enough"? How long is the text you pasted? How large is
 your IM window? How large is your font? What GTK+ theme are you using? I
 pasted a good 25-30 lines into my conversation window the other day and it
 worked just fine for me. Was this nonsense text all one word, that is with
 no spaces? Or multiple words?
