Comment:

 When you are running KDE#/Kwin I'm assuming your taskbar is being provided
 by kicker? Is kicker also providing the taskbar in KDE#/Compiz or does
 compiz provide one? If kicker is being used in both scenarios then the
 urgency flashing should work in both as the window manager has nothing to
 do with that. Either way, it seems to me that this is rather conclusively
 not a pidgin bug and as such I am going to close this ticket.
