 I'm afraid I have claustrophobia when I type in such small space: just 2
 lines visible even when maximized) - make that at least 4 or 6, but I'd
 rather prefer to have an option to turn autoresize off.

 I believe it's hard to hear for a developer that a feature for which he
 spent some time to implement is not used by users. But I (as many of
 others) switched to pidgin mostly because we liked it first. So, about the
 autoresizing: I just dont like it. And, as I see, I'm not alone here.
