 both include the option "Blink on new message" and this just confused me
 some minutes because i changed this in the preferences and nothing
 happened/changed... (it took me some minutes to find this option again
 enabled in the plugin.)

 I dont see any different behaviour whether i use the option in the
 preference or the option in the plugin. Should there be a difference?

 And this plugin is standard-distributed with pidgin, so i suggest to
 delete this unnecessary option there.
