 This problem seems to be related to Windows or Windows Vista. I've been
 using Pidgin with US-international keyboard layout for a long time without
 experiencing problems.
 Now, I'm using Debian Lenny. In former times, I was using Gaim 1.x on
 Windows XP.

 Gaims behaviour concerning dead keys has always been slightly different
 from other Windows applications: When typing a dead key twice, Gaim/Pidgin
 produces one character while others are creating the same character twice.
 I think the former is better, so there is no need to change this. However,
 this could be related to the problem that bmonkey is experiencing.
