 Ah, I misread the debug log that makes more sense then (and isn't the
 problem I thought was happening). So now the question is what prevents
 pidgin from correctly understanding that you have rejoined the room (and
 tangentially causes the "Got presence for unknown buddy X on account Y"
 messages). I'll take another look tonight.
