 I just checked my path, and it is not in there. My path is
 %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program
 Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\;C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
 Server\90\Tools\binn\

 But it would give me the same error installed as well as uninstalled. And
 I just tried to run it, with the same error, but this time on it's own,
 another window opened up, titled "Visual Studio Just-In-Time Debugger"
 saying "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in pidgin.exe [2332]" Then
 asking me if I want to debug using Visual Studio 2005 (which is Visual
 Studio 8). The original error comes from the Microsoft Visual C++ Debug
 Library. Now I've had both Pidgin and Visual Studio on this computer for
 the past year without a problem, so I wonder what's bothering it now.
