#5624: Since conversion from GAIM to pidgin, the icons are inadequate

GAIM used protocol-specific icons to clearly identify tabs and contacts as
belonging to a particular protocol. I fully understand that pidgin must
not use the intellectual property of various companies, but the icons
should still be representative of the protocol for that user (and the
conversation tab associated with it). This visual feedback provides
important information to the user: Different protocols have different
features, and/or are supported to different degrees by pidgin.

I have a number of cases where I have multiple contacts for the same
person, using different protocols. On many, many occasions I have been
annoyed by the inability to immediately identify which protocol a
particular contact is. It is true that I could give the contacts an alias
which indicates the protocol, but this is far less efficient and would
require me to keep my contact list a lot wider than I have room for to be
 useful.
