 No, it shouldn't be appearing offscreen. I've seen complaint come from the
 auto-parenting code I made reference to before but if that was the problem
 here then you should be seeing the dialog appear relative to some specific
 window or to the currently focused window. If neither of those is the case
 then this may be something else. If you run a second instance of pidgin
 with a different .purple directory (so a fresh instance either by moving
 your .purple directory or by using
 http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/Using%20Pidgin#HowdoIrunmultipleinstancesofPidginonWindows)
 does this still happen?
