#6555: PURPLEHOME environment variable ignored
---------------------+------------------------------------------------------
Reporter: Mephator | Owner: datallah

Priority: minor | Component: winpidgin (gtk)
Version: 2.4.3 | Keywords: purplehome environment variable logs

I've read through the various documentation and old tickets to see what I
should be doing in order to customize where my logs are stored. (Why this
isn't a general program preference is a completely different issue)
I set my environment variable, in XP, for %PURPLEHOME% to
D:\media\text\logs\pidgin. Using the echo command verifies this. However,
all my logs are still sent to the %appdata% location.
BUT!!
If I use pidgin -d to determine exactly what's going on, then it obeys the
environment variable and my logs go to the desired location. Start pidgin
without the -d option and it once again goes back to %appdata%.
What gives?
