 Now, I haven't developed developed for the desktop, but I would think the
 only problem with implementing this is that this feature is heavily
 integrated with the desktop manager, so I suppose it would require
 different methods to do this across all platforms (Windows, KDE, Gnome).

 Let me know if I can help, though, I'm excited about this feature.
