 I had a look at the GTK+ bug and #4966, but that is not the behavior I'm
 getting. The versions of GTK+ are the same (2.12.8, and 2.12.8 Rev A which
 is shipped with Pidgin for Windows), so it might be related, but that's
 not what I get. The type-ahead-search or whatever it's called won't even
 activate for me, nor will the status menu respond to arrow key strokes.
 But I am kind of leaning more towards the GTK+ bug. I'll just stick it out
 and see what happens in later versions I guess.
