 As I said, for status messages I think it makes absolutely no sense. Maybe
 for exactly identical status types, *maybe*, but for anything else
 absolutely not.

 As I said, I can see the case for doing it with icons, but one of the
 reasons (originally) pidgin moved to the larger buddy list format was
 because of the idea that buddy icons were identifying characteristics of
 buddies. If that is actually the case, and your buddy uses different icons
 for different accounts (including not using icons for some accounts) then
 confusing the mapping between icon and buddy is likely a bad idea.
 Unfortunately there isn't any good way for pidgin to know when it will be
 a good idea and when it won't be so this might need to be something that a
 plugin tries to do (if a plugin can reasonably do it).
