My mistake !
The problem has nothing to see with the status of the contact!
The problem is the following : I set up gnome in order to set the focus on
a window when the mouse is over. As the alias edition stops in Pidgin when
loosing focus, if the "Alias..." menu item is outside the contacts'
window, it looses focus as soon as clicked, so you can't edit the Alias.
As a work-around, I can drag the window at the bottom of the screen before
right clicking on the contact, which makes the "Alias..." menu entry to be
in the window's space.
I'd suggest not to stop the editing of the alias when the window loses
focus, but only when the Enter key is pressed or when we click somewhere
else.
Sorry for the confusion ! But the two contacts at the bottom of my list
were the more frequently unavailable !
