 Yes, what I did was to create one large group so that I could see everyone
 in one place.  I added them all back.  I checked in Pidgin and everyone
 was there.  This morning I signed on to Pidgin again and the same thing
 happened; about 20 contacts are missing.  This is getting to be quite a
 frustration.

 I have no idea what is going wrong.  I noticed that when I changed my
 groups in Pidgin, and then signed on with the AIM program again, the AIM
 program would have kind of a mishmash of the old groups and the new
 changes.

 Unfortunately if 20+ contacts disappear every time I use Pidgin, I don't
 think I will be able to stick with the program.

 No one else has this password; I have never had any issues with identity
 theft or anyone messing around with my logins, ever.

 Please help, I want to use Pidgin but if this continues I will have to
 give up.
