 I'm using Pidgin 2.2.1 on Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy), mostly for Jabber only.

 Due to maintenance on our network, the jabber server was unavailable
 several times this week.
 Pidgin however does not notice this, even after several minutes.  It keeps
 chats/rooms open and shows the users as online/available.

 When I type into a window, no error is given but the message never
 appears.
 I should give some indication that it is no longer connected to the server
 and mark the contacts as offline.
