 I'm also experiencing this problem with Windows Vista Ultimate. I will
 have Pidgin running in the tray, and I will lock the screen. When I return
 to my system, typically Pidgin is essentially locked. I have to kill the
 process and relaunch. It essentially makes running Pidgin for any length
 of time--while I'm away from the system--impossible.
