Comment:

 The monotone revisions that comprise the previous two comments are
 happening on a separate branch, `im.pidgin.cpw.rekkanoryo.yahoop15ft`, and
 have not hit the main Pidgin development line yet. I referenced this
 ticket and #708 for completeness.

 madthanau, I apologize, but now you're going to get doubled ticket emails
 for both this ticket and #708 because I specified you as the author of the
 patch and referenced both tickets in the log message.

 I've also made some additional minor changes whose log messages didn't
 reference this ticket or the other.  Whenever you have the opportunity to
 work with monotone and check out the branch you'll be able to see the
 minor changes I made.  None of them seem to have hurt anything, and the
 changes just made sense to me.

 I've set the milestone to 2.4.0 here because I'd like to get this to a
 state where everyone is comfortable with merging it to be included in the
 2.4.0 release if possible.
