Comment:

 I was doing it as an away message, so no specifc protocol.

 I belive it was GAIM that i had been able to do this in the past, if not
 perhpas the offical AIM client. Doing it via ctrl and selecting only the
 letters i wanted. not really a big issue i know, but something i noticed
 non the less.
