 Thank you for the reply. I am running Kubuntu Gutsy and have libgtk1.2
 1.2.10-18 and libgtk2.0-0 2.12.0-1ubuntu3. I believe you are talking about
 the libgtk2.0 package and it seems to meet your requirement.

 I do not understand where I can use the invisible property. The only
 options I see in the conversation window regarding timestamps is F2. Which
 toggles any new messages not existing ones.
