 Has it been determined that the issue here is not just that pidgin is
 starting up faster than the nofication area is starting and as such cannot
 remain hidden because no notification area icon can be created? If that is
 the problem there isn't much pidgin can really do about that. If something
 else is the problem then there is something that can be looked in to.
