 That is the correct process.  Alternatively, you can right-click the buddy
 and click "Send File"  If you are not seeing the desired result from
 dragging files, it might be because your "drag source" is not compatible
 with Pidgin's method of getting that information.

 If you are receiving some error, please report it with as much detail
 about the ends of the transfer as possible.
