Comment:

 No, my other clients have no such problem.  I can disconnect and reconnect
 with Psi all the while Pidgin is refusing to connect with its 'read
 error'.  I'm experiencing this at the very moment, and I can't get Pidgin
 to reconnect even by disabling the account.
