Comment:

 Are you saying that the other clients disconnect also? And that they just
 don't fail to reconnect the way pidgin does? If that is the case and the
 other client provide an XML console of some sort it would be interesting
 to see the reconnecting XML those clients send (to compare it to what
 pidgin sends).
