Bug #4831 has set a precedent for the Pidgin bug tracker being the place
to discuss fringe issues irrelevant to the development of Pidgin. Given
that, this ticket seems appropriate, even necessary.

The United States of America still uses an outdated and needlessly
complicated system of units. The only other countries on Earth that have
not done so are Liberia and Myanmar. In order to work seamlessly with the
worldwide scientific community, and to avoid embarrassment the next time
some engineer forgets to convert units and a Mars rover burns up on entry,
the USA should convert to metric.

 '''Expected Results:'''

The USA uses an intuitive, modern system of units of measurement.

 '''Actual Results:'''

The USA continues to use an outdated system of units. Non-Americans
continue to feel superior. Random idiot trolling the Pidgin bug tracker
 gets banned.
