 Both of us are using the current version of Adium (1.2.5), but judging
 from the ticket at Adium the bug seems to be existing for a while, so I
 guess it must have existed at least in the previous Pidgin 2.4.x but
 probably also in 2.3.x releases.

 Did you take a look at the other crash reports that have been uploaded to
 the ticket at Adium’s trac (linked above)? It seems as if someone has
 gathered some additional debug info. (I currently cannot do this, since I
 have only one Gtalk contact who is online only rarely.)
