 Find-as-you-type (or whatever it is called - the ability to type in a list
 and have it match prefixes of list elements) no longer works.

 I see the following behavior:

 1) If I type (where find-as-you-type works), the find-as-you-type box
 comes up with the first letter I typed in.

 2) I cannot type any further letters, and the UI becomes unresponsive for
 a short period of time


 Previously (2.3.1 and before), the behavior was as expected (you can
 type/backspace freely).

 I've tested this on a box running XP Pro SP2 and a box running Vista (non-
 SP1), and both have the same issue once switched over to 2.4.0.
