 As of 2.4.0 the searching while typing is broken.  You can see this in the
 font selection menus and also on the buddy list.  I am not sure if this is
 GTK+ related or if it is actually a problem with the newest Pidgin since
 both were updated at the same time.  I'll try to narrow down the problem a
 bit and report back.
