Comment:

 What i am saying is the dynamic sizing must rely upon a setting default
 that did not exist for NON Tab conversation windows.  Once i checked and
 then unchecked the Tab setting the dynamic sizing worked.  So it seems it
 was only tested in a tabbed environment.

 Try and recreate the issue by installing 2.4.0 over a previous version
 that is set to NON Dynamic Tabs.

 The lack of usability i see as more of the issue than the default install
 settings.
