 The complaint is, and has always been, about the ability of the user to
 control something being taken away.  This is a feature that many people
 feel strongly about (the Trac server is apparently sweating under the
 load).  Why is it so hard to say "Wow, we didn't know so many people liked
 this, we're putting it right back next release"?  Why force folks to use
 the tool in a way they clearly don't want to?

 every message you send, when Pidgin can do it much better, for you?

 Why is it so dang important to take that ability away from me?  What does
 Pidgin gain by removing this functionality?  Make the new way the default,
 but please bring the old way back as an option.
