 i currently use adium on my laptop and like the way that they implemented
 this same feature. the input box starts as a single line and will expand
 to hold any length of text. with v2.4 of Pidgin, the way the auto-resizing
 is handled looks clunky and makes the interface not seem to function
 properly [imho]. (see: pidgin-inputtext.PNG).  the function should stay,
 it just needs to be adjusted to work better.
