 I installed Pidgin 2.4 on Windows XP a I have same problem with czech
 characters. Pidgin 2.4 ignores coding which you set (inc. UTF-8). I have
 this problem with ICQ protokol, XMPP and MSN are normal. I tried to remove
 all files from Pidgin and downgrade but it not helped.
