 One problem I see with automatically resizing the user list is that it
 means the history area text will be constantly being re-flowed. Imagine
 the chaos of that in a busy IRC channel. I'm also not sure what is really
 gained by this, but then again maybe that is just me not understanding the
 need for the list in the first place.
