Hello, after talking to some of the people in IRC, it was recommended that
I file a bug report on this. While I am for things improving, I do have to
say that the current method of keeping the text input box small until
growth is needed is not always a good thing for everyone. I have some
disabilities, namely pertaining to my right, dominant, arm, and due to
this I use a tablet PC quite often. Makes it a little easer to click on
things when you can just stab the screen, rather than clicking a mouse,
when you really can't feel or move your hand too well. Pidgin for quite
some time has had it so clicking any where in the message box allows you
to just start typing away, so having a small input box is not a problem
here, but when I go to paste, then it is more of an issue. Hitting a
smaller target when at times you're doing good to simply be holding the
 stylus, is difficult.

Previously, in 2.3.1 and earlier, I had the input window set to show 4
lines of text, which gave me a large enough area to hit. Allowing the
default number of lines to be altered would alleviate my issue, as would a
suggestion another had to allow middle clicking anywhere on the message
window automatically paste into text box. Windows users may find that one
odd though, or figure it out on their own.
