Comment:

 Hmmm.  Isn't the buddy list different for each user?  I found mine in
 Application Data / Documents & Settings / ... / .purple.  The rest of the
 environment uses native Sametime in Notes.  Only a few of us use pidgin
 via the Meanwhile protocol, but there aren't any buddy lists stored on
 servers. They're local.
