 I agree with datallah that I'm not at all sure this is a good idea. I'm
 not even sure I understand what benefit this would have? I don't
 understand why one would need to know the protocol at all 98% of the time,
 let alone why one would need to know the protocols of every buddy in the
 contact. Is there some reason you want this?
