 The question was not whether the applications re-insert themselves into
 the tray once you reload it, but whether once the tray is gone entirely if
 the applications main window is thereby inaccessible. pidgin was
 explicitly written so as to not allow the main window to be hidden when
 the tray icon is not available, the question is whether the other
 applications do that or not. A secondary question is whether pidgin
 correctly handles a disappearing/reappearing notification area.
