 This has to be something fairly obvious, but I can't find it.  Is there a
 way to manually initiate an IRC server connection?  If I have an IRC
 "account" configured and it fails to connect on startup, there's nowhere
 to view status, no way of telling what's wrong, no telling if the
 connection will be reattempted or when, etc.  There's got to be a more
 direct way of managing server connections than sitting there saying, "Oh,
 oh well, I suppose maybe it will retry by itself eventually...or not..."
