 Some servers allow you to set a default buddy list which will be applied
 to new users (jabberd14 does this I believe).

 Other servers allow for server-side shared rosters which are updated
 constantly and are changeable via the server admin at any time for all
 applicable users (ejabberd and OpenFire are able to do this).

 Is the search component of your server set up correctly? Does it work with
 any other client? Can you get the Debug Window output from getting both
 the info of a specific buddy and of attempting a search?
